Nanny Wanted - Pattaya

Featured Replies

We are looking for a Nanny for our 10 month old baby boy.

Doesn't need to speak English, most important is kind heart and gentle. Young person preferable.

We are Thai/English couple living in East Pattaya.

No direct help for you unfortunately but I would advise you to reconsider what you want. Unless you speak fluent Thai, you're going to have problems. Also, you want your child to hear more than just Thai language.

Secondly, in my experience of maids in Thailand and Hong Kong, I would not get a young one. If you have not had a maid before then sit down carefully now and work out just what you want. If you are not careful you will just get an extra mouth to feed as they sit in front of the TV all day.

Really work out how your missus and maid are going to share jobs (if necessary). Specifically consider the cooking / cleaning / laundry elements.

We had two in East Pattaya and gave up on them as they were lazy and caused more problems than they solved.

I find it amusing that you think you know what may be best for a complete stranger.

I'm looking for a Nanny not a maid.

As my wife and I both speak English to our son we want the Nanny to speak Thai to him and therefore no English skills are required. This will have the added benefit of helping me to develop my Thai language skills.

We prefer younger staff approx 25-35 as this has worked well for us in the past.

I'm sorry you have had no success with your staff in the past.
