Greetings all Phuketeers :o

I'm in need of info for my trip in Feb 09 for a group of 6 who are on a budget.

Can anyone advise me on the contacts/cost of booking a boat for a day trip out at sea for island hopping and fishing?

We will be diving as well and after reading some threads in this fantastic forum, I had just drop an enquiry to Phuket Scuba Club.

Hey Alvin--I'm guessing you're Singaporean (or maybe Malaysian) and you are doing some bargain hunting. You may be in luck! You don't say whether you are planning a liveaboard or daytrip diving, but if it's an LOB, you might wait until a week or so before you get here to see what last minutes might be on offer. Do keep in mind that February is still high season, and you may not find the "ideal" boat with sale prices, but there's a good chance you'll find something, and if not, you can still sign on with a boat at the regular price.

For island hopping sorts of things, I suggest you go down to Rawai Beach and negotiate with one of the boat owners who pull up onto the beach. There are signs all along the road. With 6 people, your per-person charge will be pretty good.

Best of luck and hope you have a great time here on Phuket.

Thanx for the advice. This trip might be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances ... I'm closing this thread now. Sigh ...
