Bars In Thailand Offering Good Music?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone know of a good list of bars / restaurants / places offering live music in Thailand? Not after hard rock or anything like that - places offering laid back soul - jazz - blues - easy listening but beautifully crafted kind of stuff.

Something that would suit solos, duos and trios.

Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks muchly, Dani.

"...beautifully crafted, huh?." Here, in Pattaya, huh?? Whoa!! Champagne tastes and cavier dreams, eh? Think your lucky to find a bunch of long-haired Thai guys with jeans, vests & boots playing old Eagles & Eric Clapton tunes with lyrics that well.. don't sound quite like you you remember...!! Maybe at the big hotels, just look in the newspaper... I hear that a lot of farangs get "beautifully crafted" there (in one way or another)... every night! Tres cher, but happy holiday 4 U...

Good luck, Farang!!

Ha! Very funny indeed. :-) Guess I did get a bit carried away there.

The reason I ask is that I'm writing from Melbourne (Aust) and I have a few good bands (not famous, though very popular here, and I think would do well there also), and I'd like to organise a tour for them. Problem is I have no idea where to start as I have never been to Thailand. (almost made it last year though my rascally boss did not give me holidays).

Anyways, just looking for hotspots, ideas, - beer gardens, restaurants that may like it, hotels, bars - any possible leads.

Thanks for your help, and laugh.

WHOOPSIE... I've posted in the wrong forum I'm afraid - not just Pattaya - I've just made a 'newbie' mistake. Anywheres in Thailand would be good. Any suggestions for directions?

Apologies for the confusion.

You might want to put this in another forum. Maybe General Topics rather than Pattaya. I'm sure there are a lot more options open to you in Bangkok.

If jazz/blues is your thing there's a place called The Saxophone Pub at Victory Monument in Bangkok, quite well known for live music. Also the Bamboo Bar at the Oriental Hotel.

Pattaya's a bit limited for good quality live music venues IMHO.

Also, you should check on the work permit situation.

Let's try the pub forum. :o

If you guys really good, try Spazzo-Erawan, MC2-Novotel..and Hard Rock cafe, doesnt mean they only play heavy metal :o

Good luck.
