Music Cd Shops, Bangkok

Featured Replies

I know the main chains selling CDs in Bangkok like MangPong, Neo, etc but was wondering if there are any places residents can find slightly more esoteric stuff that's less popular here, like for example prog rock such as The Mars Volta's latest album.

I realise it's easy enough to download but I prefer less compressed files. Is Rex Records on Phetburi still around, for example?

Thanks.

CD WAREHOUSE at Emporium was the last resort Thailand had to offer when it came to international acts that are NOT in the Top-20 everywhere. since 1 year, they are closed too.

my only source of real "silver-goods" is now HMV at Orchard road in Singapore. I am there 1-2 times a year.

if you search the forum using keywords such as "Indie, Independent, Siam Square, CD" you will probably come across a topic that we had here 1-2 years ago. there must be 2 small CD-stores, one at Siam-center, and another one at Siam Square, which stock lots of imported goodies and have owners who obviously seem to be "in the know". I looked for those places 2 times but never found it (SIAM is a bit far from my suburb to get to anyway). but try your luck !
