Where To Buy Boxing Gloves In Bkk?

Featured Replies

Can anyone suggest where to buy boxing gloves in Bangkok when I am in town this coming weekend (Chinese New Year hols in Singapore)? I'm not taking up Muay Thai but am doing boxing training at my gym in Singapore and need to get a pair of 16 oz gloves to fit my farang hands. Trainer suggested easier and cheaper to buy them in BKK than in SIN. They're for training only so ones that are easy to get on and off (velcro wrist straps rather than full lace ups) preferred, but the main thing is the size as the 12 oz ones I use now make my hands hurt!

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

CC

outside Lumpini stadium are several shops, Twins, King, Windy and a few other brands wont get them any cheaper than in these shops

Didn't have time to go over to Lumpini so dropped by MBK last Monday - got a pair of 16oz Windy gloves with the velco fastening. Also got some Windy hand tapes, also with a velcro closure. Both in a rather fetching red colour and the whole lot just over Bt 2k.

First session today. A good fit but gloves seemed quite stiff in places. Guess it may take a couple of sessions to break them in a bit.

Thanks to tytus and Tingtongnoi for the replies.

I can't remember but the gloves + tapes were Bt 2,300 in total, something like that

Gloves have had 3 or 4 sessions, are wearing in nicely and becoming very comfortable. Instructors reckon the quality is good and want me to buy minimum 5 pairs in assorted sizes + tapes when next I am in BKK. How much do you reckon that lot would be at Lumpini? Don't have to be Windy - any good brand will do...

There are several shops with boxing gear at both Lumpinee and Radjadamnern stadium.

Costs of a pair of 16oz gloves (with velcro) will be about 1100-1200 baht.

The shinguards are also highly recommended (by me) for a price of around 1200-1400 baht.

(ps hope i remembered the prices correctly)
