Toyota Dealer Disc Brake Upgrade For Fortuner/vigo

Featured Replies

Guys, newbie here but saw this post and thought i would add my tuppence to it.

You are lucky that you get this as a dealer fit option in the first place, i fitted these over a year ago because the toyota dealer here said to just drive slower when i complained of my stock brakes, which in my opinion was bs as the stock braking system on these units are marginal at best. Yes the dealer also invalidated my warranty because i fitted them, but i would rather have that than another close call or serious accident.

The stock pads that come with rear kit are not grippy enough, but since the rear calipers are similar to another cars i got a set of upgraded pads to fit, which make the rears fantastic now, in fact i had to readjust the rear lspv again to tone it down as i could lock the rears very easily.

So for me, if you want better brakes then fit the runstop kit and you wont look back.

Cheers

Hi Phillip

What big brake kit package do u have for isuzu mu7?

Are the kits from runstop?

Do let me know the pricing for a 4pot , 6 pot kit for 17" or 18" rims setup

Is the rear disc brake conversion possible for mu7? if yes how much would that set me back?

According to the BJ Runstop website, they make 3 different rear disc conversions for the D-Max, so it would stand to reason that they'll have a solution for the MU-7:

Note that they don't list a kit for the Pajero Sport either, but definitely have them - their website just hasn't been updated for 4 years..
