The British Club, on Silom, has knock-abouts on Tuesdays and Saturdays I believe. Every level.

Courts also at Ambassador (were <deleted> the last time I was there) Queens Park Sukh Soi 22, and President Park

Fitness, Soi 24, has 2 also.

Yep, I'm an average level player and looking for regular games - Asoke or any sukhumvit/Ratchada area is fine for me.

Lets schedule a game sometime soon. Weekday evenings are good for me.

Weekdays are fine for me, bar Wednesdays and Fridays which is badminton. Any preference which courts to play on and what the charges are?

Posted

SOunds good. I only know of a Racquet club in soi 49, which has charges of approx 500 THB for a day !! any other suggestions welcome.I am relatively new to bangkok and still finding the bearings of squash.

I used to be a member of the racquet club a couple of years ago, and nice squash courts (always available too), but silly prices for non-members. For the British CLub one of the players has to be a member also. I'll check out the hotels to see what they charge.

Hey carlbkk/blithespirit

I'm also looking for a place to play...I found a couple of alternatives and it works out cheaper if you can book for 2 hours, if there's 3 of us taking it in turns it works out around 300bt. This was down the amari hotel, pratunam and omni on sukhumvit soi 4. Weekdays would also suit me, say Monday or Tuesday.. Let me know what you think.

I think that's a fine idea and both hotels suit me fine. What do you say Blithespirit?

Just some input. I did a a fairly thorough search around for courts last year and the most readily available seem to be at the hotels but pretty pricey, but there again anything foreign orientated here appears to be taxed appropriately. We played once at Queens Park (soi 22) and the price included full use of the gym. They were not preapred to discount if we did not need the gym use. The other option we were going to look into was finding something at a condo block (as there are quite a few with courts) and tip the security but never got round to it.

Anyway I would be interetsed in a game (although my game is very average and played once in the last few years) so could be an idea to book 2 courts at same time for 4 of us (not sure if that would still get the reduced price mentioned).

I am in Sukhumvit, so Omni Soi 4 would be better for me.

Let me what you think.

Cheers

Im also up for this, can pretty much do any day or time after lunch on wards. I could also pick someone up on the way as I would travel from rama 9 to sukhumvit if helpful.

anyone willing to teach me squash? i am very uncoordinated and will probably suck but i want to learn!

Ok guys I popped in to this hotel earlier today (Omni). They have just one court and I spoke to the head of house, explained that I didn't stay at the hotel and that some of us may like to play squash...she said no problem and there'd be no charge! I did repeat myself so unless she really didn't get me, it looks like it'll be free (well if it's not it won't be much). It seemed like the court has little use. To book it call the hotel on 026568300 #0.

It would be nice to have 2 courts as there's a few of us who want to play....so who's up for Monday evening squash first?

Posted

Hi Carl, I am up for it next week. Can do any time so if you book the court as you have had contact with Omni I will be there. This week would prefer Tuesday but can do Monday if need be. If there is more than 2 of us we can maybe use the court for more than one time slot but presumably you will need to book both slots at the same time. It will be interesting to see if it really is free :o

Once we see how many are up for a regular game perhaps we can find somewhere with 2 courts if needed. If so, I will then pop down to Queens Park (soi 22) as an option, where I played last year (cannot even remember how many courts it has!) and check out the present situation/cost there, although last year was not cheap and not open to negotiation.

Hey, Well I can play Mondays or Tuesdays after 6.30pm. The only thing I lack is a squash racquet at the moment so if there is 3 of us maybe I can borrow someones until I'm able to get one? Tonight I can play, if its too late let me know and I'll come along tommorow.

On a slightly different subject, I play badminton on a Wednesday night... a colleague and myself are looking to play another night in the week. Anyone know of any other organised clubs in BKK that play round robin? Be much appreciated.

Omni are a waste of space. I just called up to book and got passed around from pillar to post with reception saying that non-guests can't play and today's managers not speaking enough English to understand me, so I had to give up. I called Amari Watergate where they have 2 courts which are free from 6.30-8.30 tonight but at 400 baht per person.

Let me know if anyone is up for playing and I'll book, but first I'll call Queens Park and the Chamnan Phenjati office building (a short walk from Fortune Town/Rama 9 MRT) which I know has squash courts available for walk-ins.

Imperial Queens Park is 400 baht per person to play, so seems better than the Amari (as it includes all facilities and easier to get to for most). Chamnan Phenjati building I just can't find a tel. number for.

I only have one racquet - not sure if these hotel clubs have spares for hire.

At the moment it seems Imperial QP is best so let me know if anyone's up for playing this week and what times are good.

Carlbkk,

Queens Park is good with me, let me buy a racquet this week and let you know when is good.

Just had a game with J (Groovetank) on Monday evening at the court in his condo. Great to be playing again. Anyone else want some games there next Monday? Free court, walking distance from Thonglor BTS, couldn't be better!

Hi,

I just moved into a condo on Rajadamri next to the Four Seasons Hotel that has a squash court and am looking for people to play with. The court is free and in reasonably good condition with AC. I never played much and am probably at a low intermediate/high beginner level.

I don't like to put my phone number on an open forum, but send me a message and I will get right back to you.

Hi,

I would like to start play again also. I havent played for years anymore and even back then I only played a few times.

So i'm not really good at it but I play for fun and socializing, instead of achieving some record.

I live near BTS On-Nut. Problem is that I work outside thailand on a very irreguar base so nobody can count on me as

a fixed squash partner for a fixed day in the week.

Still looking for squash players.......

There are 3 or 4 of us now playing Monday, Wednesday and Friday. People come and go and it seems best to have three people playing and alternating on the court.

The court is at Royal Place One next to The Four Seasons on Rajadamri. It's Ok, but the AC could be better.

I'm happy to travel for a game.

Please pm me your phone number if you would like to play.
