Hi,

I wonder if anyone can advise:-

My civil partners current FLRM is up for renewal on 26.02.09. Whilst his spoken English is fine both his reading and writing levels are not where they need to be, probably 6 months away so this is our second FLRM.

I originally booked an appointment at Croydon but today due to personal reason had to go to Scotland so rang to change the location and rebooked the appointment for my civil partners FLRM renewal on 13.02.09 in Glasgow. When I re booked the appointment I was informed that we needed to provided 6 proofs of address just as if this was an ILR application since it is the second FLRM. This was not mentioned when I booked the initial appointment and I see no where on the form itself or in the guidlines where this is asked so I queried it and was met with an emphatic yes I am right and if not supplied the application will be rejected. The address ID In itself not a problem since I have been keeping this information for ILR however since I am in Scotland dont have this with me since I didn't think it would be required. I can arrange to get it but does anone know if this information is correct??? It's not asked for on the form since we have our CP certificate so thought would post to see if anyone else has come across this.

The second thing is I have been working as a self employed contractor. I have deliberatly stopped work as am renovating my home and am going to take a two month sabatical back to Thailand in March so not renewed my contract which expired on 31.12.08. My finances are healthy enough with property rentals and savings of approx £45,000 all documented and a letter explaining why I am not working, my old contact showing my earning potential (also seen on my bank statements) and that I am not claiming any benefits at all. I don't think this is a problem and I know there is no fixed amount but not sure how I should respond if this comes up as an issue.

Any advice comments appreciated
