Just wondering as a lot of folks would like to stay longer on the 30 days VISA waiver program. Is that law still in place?

In case it is, Thailand should take a long hard look at Malaysia's practices!!

Thank you.

No. It is no longer being used. Be aware that you will only get 15 days entry at a border crossing.

Why not get a tourist visa before you travel. They are easy to get. For each entry you get 60 days that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. Its cheaper than doing a border run.

I appreciate the answers vey much! Q: Is that visa availabvle upon arrival as well? I really live a long way from the Berlin embassy and would rather do a border run than travel to berlin and back for a VISA... Cheers, Chris

A tourist visa must be obtained from an embassy or consulate. At the airport you will only get a visa exempt entry of 30 days.

Check their website, many embassies and consulates allow you to apply by mail.
