Thailand Avocados

Featured Replies

Need help. I am looking for 3000-6000 avocados seeds. I plan to grow them from seeds and graft them later. Does anyone have any suggestion on where to source the seeds, beside from Pak Chong Station? Thanks. It's been very difficult looking for large growers of avocados in Thailand.

I'd suggest contacting Don at Don's Cafe. I believe he grows his own and would probably know where to get seeds. (ad for his place at top of this forum)

Years ago I was given a tiny avocado tree, a branch really, from some orchard in Kata and now it is 2 stories high and had its first crop of luscious avocados 6 months ago! I tried to grow another tree from seeds but was unsuccessful. :o

I have never located this orchard and believe it might be gone now.

So if you get some trees going, pls let me know as I'd like to buy some!

Trying doing a search in the farming section

In the province Tak, northern Thailand, there are farmers growing avocados.

In the province Tak, northern Thailand, there are farmers growing avocados.

We got our grafted trees from there, just before Mae Sot.

You might try checking out how to grow avocados. They often do not come true from seed, can take longer to fruit when grown from seed and can produce inferior fruit when grown from seed. I believe there is an avos thread in both the farming forum and the Chiang Rai forum.

I have lots of avocado seeds in Chiang Rai as I process them for commercial sale. Do you have a price in mind for what you would like to pay? Would they be shipped to Phuket?
