Passport Certified Copy Where And Who?

Featured Replies

Yet another question folks

I note the need for a Certified copy of my passport to be included in the supporting Documents in her Settlement Visa.

The exact wording is

Certified copy of Spouse/civil Partner's passport as evidence that he/she is British or settled in the UK

My question is where do i need to get this done? Can i get a copy certified in the UK before heading to Thailand or can i get it done in VFS? How much does it cost if so?

Would it be ok to get a copy certified at the post office?

When they say a copy do they merely mean the Main page? Do they require copies certified of each and every pae of a 32 page document?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is a good idea to copy every page as it will show how many times you have visited Thailand.

Any solicitor will certify the copies. How much they will charge varies, so ask around.

Some people have told me that they certified the copies themselves with the words "I certify that this is a true copy of passport no............" Whether that is acceptable, I would not like to say.

If you are going to be in Thailand when the application is submitted then I believe that you can get it done at the VAC. However, I would want that confirmed before relying on it.
