How To Trade On Set

Featured Replies

can anyone tell me how to trade on the SET. Can it be done online or do you need a broker? Any advice on how to trade is appreciated. Someone mentioned K-Cyber from K Bank but I cant find anything on line that looks like it will help. Have checked the SET site and it doesnt mention any online trading...

Believe you cant trade on line and you need a broker...have a look at the SET website and If I remember correctly there is a list of brokers on there

If you go to your bank (have seen this at Bangkok Bank), they have a service called Introducting Agent, which means that they take your basic info and send it to the securities company (in their case, Bualuang Securities) who will set up your online trading for you. Debits and credits will be conducted via the savings a/c that you hold at the bank.

The answer is yes to both your questions. You need to create an account with a broker and then you can trade online.

Use the thaivisa search facility (top right this page) to find some of the many previous threads on the topic of buying shares in thailand. try search words like "thailand stockbroker buying shares" or similar (click the "search threads titles only" box to narrow things down)

Also use google/yahoo to find the web sites of some of the thai stockbrokers and read about how to start account, etc. As you will see some are more set up for english-speakers than are others.
