Dental Implants

Featured Replies

has anyone had recent experience of dental implants within Pattaya. I am thinking of several implants so I am seeking costs. is there any discount for several?

How long do's the whole process take from implant to final crown.

Any reccomendations via experience would be appreciated.

I am aware that just about every clinic in Pattaya is advertising the proceedure and that is there a lot of competition. Seems there a hel_l of a lot of specialists in such a small area so one tends to think can it be true.

Comments appreciated

Cheers

I looked into this a while ago, and came to the conclusion there was no discernable difference, price-wise with my home country (UK) and Thailand

They use the American way of advertising in as much as they catch your eye with a low price for, say an "implant" but thats ONLY the implant and the crown and treatment goes on top of the bill at the end.

This "looking into it" was BEFORE Any exchange rate collapse, so it may well work out cheaper in your home country

i have neither prices nor experience on the operations of it all, but i do know you should stake out a reputable dentist and have them give your chops a look. you might find that many dentists would recommend a good ol' root canal. with that being said, dental implants get a bad rap when it comes to western dentistry and you've probably already done the homework. but, you just gotta be sure you have good bone structure to work with. are you missing these teeth or replacing existing teeth?

i actually pay the piper when it comes to my teeth. i went to BPH without wincing at the bill. i'm currently in the process of 2 simultaneous root canals on the bottom molars 1 and 2. i went there late on a sunday night to have them yank molar 1. it had cracked 3-4 times over 2 years. cavity filling popped out, infections and so on. i just wanted it gone. the dentist on call recommended both root canals (and one more molar on top that been a long time coming) instead of pulling the tooth. antibiotics one week and then began the root canals.

anyway, are you missing these teeth?

I had mine done a 3 tooth bridge (due to damaged bone above where the root should have been) and a crown to match at the Pattaya Dental Clinic Soi 3 just up from the Sea side guest house

very good value 35000 to 40000 Bth (£750 to £800) including all the xrays temp bridge and cap laser whitening top and bottom.

25 to 30% of the price of other places she has a mini digital camera and takes pics of inside and outside before and after

a very gentle dentist especially useful for the those suffering from Dentalphobia or for kids

Highly recommended and 3 years of free 6 monthly checks of which I have had 2 so far no problems and no other work needed

cannot recommend her highly enough

to compare to the Uk price I live in Surrey off and on and the rip off bar stewards here wanted £6500!!!!!!!!!!!!! <deleted>!!

had a maryland cap before and it was forever coming out £150+ a time to put back in !!

Hope this helps

I had an implant fitted in the uk 6 years ago and it cost me 3500 quid

I had one fitted on new years day 2009 and the full treatment was 50000 baht (1500 quid.)

From having the implant fitted you have to wait 3 months for the bone to fully knitt around the implant which i have just done had my impression on friday, and i am having the crown fitted tomorrow.

All in all, a very reasonable price and a relatively painless procedure, would recomend one to anybody :o

as one poster pointed out some dentists seem to like to push this option.. my mrs said she needed to get a implant as recommended by a local clinic, i asked her to go along to the Pattaya International Hospital for a second opinion and was told to go for root canel & crown. I would still rather have my own teeth where possible...

I had a crown fitted in Jomtien Pattaya the clinic is called Sawasdee. It's next to Grand Jomtien Palace hotel. It cost me 6,ooo baht (10th April 09) . I don't know the whole treatment will cost you. This price to me seems too expensive but hey ho if I got it done in London it wud have cost me £400 just a crown. Sometimes, the dentists charge you too much money because they think you guys are farang and can afford it. When I went there I never used my English name just used my Thai name but out of the blue she asked me when I'm going back abroad? Most ppl there label Thai women as bad girls who married farang for money. I always get the looks from my ppl that i'm kind of girl. It's annoying.... Sue, London.

I paid 9 Thousand baht for a Crown at a Dentist down Soi Nernplubwan. At first she wanted 17 Thousand, and when i tried to get up of the chair to get out, she would'nt let me go, then she lowered her price to 9, so I agreed.

My mom went to the clinic opposite Immigration-Jomtien soi 5. They did really a good job. Friendly and very reasonable price. My mom loves there.

My uncle get a bad implant experience from one dentist around Pratamnak area, given too many medicine made him turn really bad. after a cure from Hospital in Sriracha for two weeks, but he finally end up staying another two weeks in hospital in Bangkok.

I went to Memorial hospital to have a wisdom tooth removed, very painless and 3,500 baht including xrays.Maybe worth a quote there as they are very professional.

Wasn't this a thread about implants? :o

yes it is,and i did say due to my pleasant experience its worth a visit for a quote as the service and professionalism is good.

rolling eyes can be dangerous

Wow - I paid 1 Thousand Baht for a Wisdom Tooth to be removed down Soi Nernplubwan.

I sat in the chair, and the Lady Dentist had taken it out before I knew. I didnt feel a thing, and I did'nt even have to take the Painkillers after the numbness had worn off.
