Thai Son To Ireland......

Featured Replies

Hi,

Thai woman divorces Thai National. They had one son aged 20, son now still in Thailand.

Woman remarries with Irish national, She now lives in Dublin.

She wants to bring the son to Ireland, but her ex is not keen on it.

She will go back to Bangkok next week, the best thing would be for her to seek legal advice in this regard I guess?

Thanks in advance.

As the son is 20 then I doubt there is much his father could do to stop him moving to Ireland if he wished.

However, I imagine that the Irish rules on this are similar to the UK ones, in which case as the son is 20 he would have to apply in his own right, not as the son of someone already living in Ireland.

Thanks. There is a family reunification visa, but the child must be under 18.
