I PM'd and asked the rates:

Airport to Pattaya (hotel) - Baht 1000 (including tolls)

Pattaya to Airport - Baht 1100 (including tolls)

Not so cheap given the thousands of places in Pattaya that will whisk you to the airport for 800 baht plus tolls and from memory they're less than 100 baht. Can't figure out why he wants more going to the airport rather than the other way - perhaps more hills to climb.

Bell bus will do it for 200 baht door to door either way.
