there has been lots of hype around the creation of Phuket FC this year. They decided to make the club after Phuket's success at hosting the Thai national team in the Kings Cup and SEA Cup. They reckon it's going to be a "real" FC

anyway they are playing their first match at 4pm today. If you in Phuket I reckon it would be worth going to watch.... maybe history in the making :o

Phuket is to host Football Division 2 match this afternoon and it will be live telecast by NBT to southern provinces.

The Phuket provincial authority is joining hands with the Football Association of Thailand under the royal patronage and the Sports Authority of Thailand to organize a football division 2 tournament for the southern Thailand zone. The teams comprise Phuket, Krabi, Nakorn Srithammarat, Patthalung, Satun, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwas. The kick off match is scheduled at 3pm today, Friday, between the host Phuket team and Satun at Surakul stadium in the city. Phuket Vice Governor Worapoj Ratasrima reaffirmed the readiness of the preparation of the pitch, security and traffic around the stadium. Tickets are 40 and 20 baht. A lucky draw will be arranged during half time. The match will be televised live by NBT TV and cover 14 southern provinces today at 3 pm onwards.

Phuket lost 1-4 to Satun

too bad, anyway its only round 1 and there was a decent atmospere. Their next match is against Krabi away on 5th April

Phuket FC lost the 1st match against Satun in the football tournament division 2 for southern Thailand, hosted by Phuket.

The kick off match for the football tournament division two for southern Thailand took place on Friday at Surakul Stadium in Phuket city where the host Phuket team played against Satun. The match was declared started by Phuket Governor Wichai Praisa-Ngop at around 3.30 pm and televised live throughout southern Thailand by NBT Television. The visiting team from Satun demonstrated strong skills and talent to lead the Phuket team from the first half until the match ended with Satun beating Phuket 4-1. Suratin Lienudom, the manager of Phuket Football Club, admitted that the opponents showed strong skills and preparedness and that the Phuket team needs to improve. The tournament will go on until August. The event in Phuket has been put together by the provincial authority, Football Association of Thailand, the local Football club and all local governments in Phuket.
