August 23, 200916 yr Ian, what did you do as a job, before you went to Thailand, may I ask? I spent 40 years working for foresty in British Columbia. I loved it because I could arrange trips into the wilderness for months at a time. I didn't make much money but I had a marvelous life full of wonderful experiences that I wrote about for magazines. This was me in 1962
August 23, 200916 yr Must have been a great job Ian! It was and I spent 5 years longer than I needed to because I enjoyed it. I only retired because I couldn't add anymore to my pension and they offered to buy me out when they were downsizing. I don't regret one minute of the time I spent working. Luckily, I got out when I did because the whole industry has collapsed and my old job has all but disappeared.
