Ladies and Gentlemen,

The 2009 Phuket Film Festival is about to take center stage.

This year with an exciting line-up of films from Hollywood, Europe and Taiwan. Plus Festival VIPs award winning director Darnell Martin ("Cadillac Records") Academy Award winning actor Adrian Brody (unless the red shirts act up again - Adrian has reservations about security in Thailand) and award winning director Gus Van Sant ("Milk") (ditto above with security) as well as a delegation of 11 directors and stars from Taiwan AND a cadre of 17 producers, directors and sales agents from all over the world representing their Festival screenings.

Festival website is being updated almost daily with film trailers and information on our screenings. Screenings will be at the Coliseaum Cineplex in Phuket Town. Yes, an older theater but SF is too costly to have as a location.

We also have two-three Gala events open to the public.

Friday, June 5 a Gala Spotlight on Taiwanese Film, outdoor screening (maybe if logistics can be worked out to protect from possible rain) and F&B party;

Saturday, June 6 Gala Opening, Red Carpet hosted by KingFisher, filmmaker awards and F&B party;

Saturday, June 6 morning seminar by UK producer and sales agent Heather Millard on Alternative Film Distribution Methods;

Friday June 5 press meet our 6 women directors as we Focus on Women directors.

Wednesday June 10 is Alternative Lifestyle Day with several gay, lesbian and transgender theme movies screening along with special participaton of Gus Van Sant.

Please keep watching our Website for evolving news and event locations:

The sustainability of this event is in your hands folks. We know of the problems from back in October 2007 and we are looking to correct most of them this year but we are operating on "fumes" of sponsor support. But if you all turn out for film screenings, interact with our Festival VIP guests and take part in our activities, it becomes a much easier sell to sponsors in year 3.

Thanks for your support!
