Thaivisa Site Search

During the weekend we have upgraded the forum search functionality on the forums. From now forum search is powered by a separate server powered by Google. To check it out, click Search on the upper right on all forum pages.

The old search engine is still available if you should prefer the old way (click on "More search options")

We are still tuning the new search, so some glitches may apply.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

Is there a way of searching for a phrase? e.g. "fresh 800k"?

It works using the old search engine by clicking on "More search Options" and entering "fresh 800k" including the double quotes, but doesn't work - "did not match any documents" - using the new search engine.

Try a search without the quotes.

Try a search without the quotes.

First thing I tried, george! :)

The odd thing is, the results of the search without quotes give every post with both "fresh" and "800k" in them, but none with the phrase "fresh 800k". I would expect the results to include posts that have the phrase in them, as well as the posts with both words in them.

I just went to Google and searched: site:Thaivisa.com "fresh 800k" - and it worked as expected: lots of posts with that exact phrase in it, and no posts with merely both the individual words.

So I believe something needs "tweaking" somewhere george! :D
