I am an Australian resident and entered Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa. I am going to try and extend it for another 30 days at the Phuket Immigration office. However, once those 30 days are used, there is a possibility that I may want to stay longer.

If l leave Thailand and go to say Penang or Kuala Lumpur, can I apply for another 60 day tourist visa?

Does the 90 day limit only apply to 30 day visas and not 60 day visa?

I've looked through this forum and other websites and am still a bit hazy on the rules. I would really appreciate any guidance.

regards,

Kym

Ther is no restriction on getting another visa. You can get as many as you want.

The rule restricting the number of days that applied to visa exempt entries only was revoked last November.

and if you travel over to KL and apply before June 4th, there is no charge for a single entry tourist visa.

Apply 9.30-11.30 day 1 and collect next (working) day 14.30-16.30
