I am about to go to the Australian Embassy for a letter of income received from Australia.

Does any one know what I need to take with me - besides my passport, how much does it cost and how long does it take?

The income is from investments there in a roll-over fund.

Thanx Guys

Thanx for that Ubonjoe I have emailed the Consulate and got this standard reply by some one who obviously did not understand the question which I explained thoroughly. Part of which is quoted FYI.

"The Australian Embassy can not help you to get entry permits or visas, visa extensions or work permits for Thailand or other countries. Make sure you obtain visas, entry permits and extensions of stay from Thai immigration authorities or a Thai Embassy or Consulate."

There is also a post from Sunbelt dating back to Dec. 2006 which says that they only give Statutory Declarations (the blanks they supply) I was just wondering if this is still the current practice.

I beleive I recall something about it being a Statutory Declaration. That should be enough for immigration.

You should send another email and ask about a proof of income letter or statutory delaration of income.

If you asked for a "Retirement Letter" similar to what you have in your topic title that could be why you got the standard answer.

joblo,

The Australian Embassy Consular services have blank Statutory Declarations thant you can fill in at the Embassy.

The cost of certification of this document is currently 510 bht.

Your passport is required for signature verification.

No supporting documents are required as the Embassy is only certifying your signature and the stamped seal.

Depending on the time of day, you should be in and out in 30 mins. Late afternoons seem to be a good time, and they are open until 4.30 PM.
