I currently hold a Non-Immigrant Type "B" Visa which was issued at the Thai embassy in Singapore and expires June 17th. I have not yet applied for my work permit as my sponsering company had to complete a legal and financial paperwork restructuring for me to be legally employed. As usual, this has taken longer than expected to be processed by the Thai authorities and the proper paperwork may not be completed and approved so that I can apply for my work permit prior to the expiration of my visa. Therefore, I guess I must make a visa run. My questions are: 1) Will I be able to obtain another Type "B" visa so that I can apply for the work permit once the proper company paperwork is in place? 2) Can I use the same company sponsership letter and documentation as I did in the first application? 3) Must such application be submitted at an embassy or consulate? 4) Anything else I should be aware of prior to making the visa run?

Your input, comments and advise will be most appreciated.

You can apply for another single entry visa using the same documents you used before at an embassy or consulate.

You cannot get one here.

Nothing other than the reason it was issued. They are both non immigrant visas. You can get a work permit with either one and an extension of stay for employment.

To get either one from a nearby consulate you have to qualify for it.

To get a B you would need a WP3 (work permit application receipt) and company documents from an employer.

To get a non-o you would need to be married to a thai, have a thai child, or be over 50. There are few others such as paper work from a NGO or some such organization that says you will be doing volunteer work.

You need documentation from a school, Check with one of those that sponsor this forum.

Why don't you do a topic and ask what your options are instead of posting on other topics,

You have asked about a retirement extension besides the ones I have just anwered.

Yes you should have one. It appears though you didn't have one the first time according to the info in your original post.

Hi Friends,

Interesting to follow, would it be possible to get a work permit with a Non Immigrant Visa Form OA validity one year, if once I decide to work again ?

If not, what would you advise ?

Thanks by advance.

You won't get a work permit if you have a OA visa or an extension based upon retirement. You would have to leave and get a regular non-o to get a work permit.

If you are here in Thailand and are 50 or over you can easily get a single entry non-o at most nearby consulates.

All you need is your passport to prove your age.

I think he is in France.

You should be able to get it in France with no problem. Only takes a few days. Thai Embassy Paris.

If not successful you can always get it from Stuttgart Germany or Hull in UK . In fact you can also get a Multi Entry from these 2 Consulates.
