I know marriages are recorded at district offices. Where would the record of someone's death be recorded in Bangkok?

Trying to locate with limited resources someone from 40 years ago and having no luck. I knew there was a possibility that they may have passed away, but never thought about checking the death records first. Decided that might be the best place start.
