The Girlfriend Needs A Job

Good morning to you all..

I'm looking for any suggestions for my Thai girlfriend with regards to employment, in, and around Chiang mai.

She has been looking for work now for 3 months to no avail. Trawling through the local job section and internet daily is not proving to successful for her. She has applied to various job offers from advertisments that appear in shop windows, but their wage structure is appalling.

For example we went to "said" shop who required somebody on a full time basis to help and assist her clothing shop. Terms were 6 days per week 11am-8pm (1 hour for lunch) and on the 6th day being that a Saturday she would be required to stocktake which would normally run into the small hours of the morning. Other duties also included selling, cleaning the shop floor and also utility areas such as toilets and car parking spaces. It sounds a fair job (given the global climate) and a job that should at least pay the bills. She offered 3,500 baht P/M ...

I think that worked out to 145 baht per day but what with the "day" being such long hours, especially on the 6th day this would equate to around about 10 baht per hour. Poor girl would have to work 1/3 of her working day just to afford a noodle soup..

She is a university graduate from Ramkhamheng university in Bangkok with a Degree in mass communication. She was working for a Mapping company, designing and restructing ordinate survey maps of Thailand for a few years after graduating from university. She is 25 years of age, attractive and has excellent written and spoken English skills, along with a very pleasant personality.

If anybody could reccommend or suggest any vacant postions for employement or maybe you yourself need staff for your company/business, she would really appreciate it.
