Prahuap khiri khan

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of going down to Prachuap (the main town) soon and wanted to see if anyone else has been down there recently and can give some advice on accom. Was last down there 7 years ago and it seemed like quite a nice little town with a great beach just south of town, (Aomanao?) but a bit of a monkey problem near the hill.

As everything changes at the rate of knots round LOS, has anyone got an update on the tiowability of Prachuap these days? And post the names/details of any cheapish hotels (sub 500 baht) that are handy for the town centre.

Cheers anyone!

Try the KING HOTEL   200 baht

fan room with toilet and two double beds, very clean

It is near the market

Just thought,   if you go a bit further south then Bang Saphan

has some cheap bungalows on the beach.  I was there last week.

PM me if you want details

Cheers Thetyim, bit pushed for time, so getting any further south to Bang Saphan, will depend on how we find PKK. Is there anything to do round B. Saphan and what state is the beach in? Good for young kids learning to swim and level of crud on the beach are obvious ones that come to mind. And did you check out Ao Manao while in PKK?

Yes I used to go to Ao Manao regurlarly, It is the first bit of sea water south of BKK I am happy to let my kids play in.

The water in north PKK can be dirty.

The water and beach at Bang Saphan is fine.

The food is very good and VERY cheap in Bang Saphan.

It is a quiet place and no night life.

Day time there is an interesting cave that the King visits in person and the usual supply of temples to visit.  Good for a beach holiday.

PM when you get back. I will tell you about my secret for finding good quality cheap hotels.
