anyone in here was diagnosed with this and had surgery done here in Thailand,

Can anyone give some advise on where, what and how much it would be to get it done.

Or maybe anyone tried something else to get rid of them?

Not rare.

Bumrungrad has a surgeon with lots of experience doing it laparoscopically and, if you are a candidate, this is the best way. Surgery is relatively quick and hospital and recuperation time quite short.

Unfortunately can't recall the name of the surgeon but a quick search on the Bunrungrad website should get you all the info.

No idea what the cost would be these days.

Best!

I can't answer all your questions, but my Thai friend recently had the operation done at Chulalongkorn Hospital and they did it the modern way by laproscopic surgery. He felt it was done very well and in the hospital 5 days.

5 days in the hospital? I thought it was a one overnight procedure? Or maybe a second night but 5 nights?

Anyway any idea on what he paid for it with the 5 days stay?

5 days is a long time for a laparoscopically. You should be out in 2 days.

I had my Gallbladder out many yrs ago. Had 28 stones. A very simple procedure. If you would like to know the average cost at bumragrad, go on their website, and click on the procedure and they will give you Average cost.

yes thought so too. Hearing he has to stay 5 days scares the hel_l out of me. reason enough maybe not to go to that hospital.

No, my friend had the complicating factor of aplastic anemia.

Can't give any guidance as to price...he was covered by insurance and I don't have any idea as to the cost.

Keep in mind, also, that Thai hospitals don't push you out the door as quickly as do American hospitals.

During my annual check ups at Bumrungrad gall stones were discovered about 5-6 years ago; no pain or other issues. Three months ago pain became a major problem and I has gall bladder removed. Could not do key hole surgery as too much infection. Was in hospital 5 days. So far no issues at all after have the proceedure. Not done in Thailand so no help with cost.

The only thing I can add to this discussion is when I had it done. I was 22 years old. I had been complaining of pain for nearly a year. The doctor thought it was just back pain, and never thought it was the gallbladder. Finally I had to be taken to the emergency room. Gallbladder nearly ruptured. Doctor told me I potentially could have died. Had to do emergency surgery to remove. Hurt like HELLLLLLL!!!!! Had to cut through the muscles in my stomach. could not even sit up or walk for a week.

I was given an estimate price of 170-190,000 at Bumrungrad ; 180,000 at Phayathai1; 150,000 by email from Phayathai 2. I'm still looking..

I was diagnosed with hectic gallstones about 18 months ago... i refuse to have anything taken out my body unless it absolutely necessary. With the right diet and some help from good old Flaxseed oil, you can manage it without pain. I have had one or 2 minor attacks since then, but nothing as hectic as when it was discovered. By now i know what is good to eat, and what best avoided... and as long as i take my Flax every day, it keeps me going!!!

You can expell them naturally. For five days drink a quart of apple juice in the morning. On Wed. you will feel as if you have the flu, apple juice is cleaning out the liver flu like symtoms will leave by afternoon on Wed. On friday drink the juice in the morning. have a early dinner. 4 hours before bed time drink 1 table spoon of epson salts mixed with water. 2 hours later drink 4 oz. lemon juice mixed with 4 oz. olive oil. Before bed time another table spoon of epson salts with water. drink plenty of water. When you wake up stay around the house you will have major bowel movements. Various size stones should be expelled from gallbladder. The only issue that may arise is if one of the stones is to large it could block the duct from the gallbladder to intestine.

There are several web sites that have info on this procedure with some slight differences. I have done this myself, it works.
