later this month eddie quinn from UK will holding a seminar in his recently developed and highly effective

system called The Approach ( please google it)

I have been in the martail arts all my life ( but am still a beginner) and have trained in so many different new styles/systems.

This one is simply exellent.

if I had just a few hours to teach someone something effective it would have to be this.

The seminar will be held on soi 13 at the boxer-rebellion gym and it free for all allied police/military( UK/USA/NZ/AUS/CAN

The only ones to impress me are ;

I google "The Approach" Eddie Quinn seminar in Bangkok you mentioned, that is at Boxer Rebellion Martial Arts Bangkok gym.

I am always keen to go to a decent seminar for self defense, as hardly any in Thailand.

I did not hear of Eddie Quinn before, as usual, being around the bar brawl errr I mean self defense martial arts

sense 25 years now, initially I was not expecting anything more than an ok average.

Well WOW man! I am wrong on this, I read up a few of Eddie Quinns Approach Self Defence articles,

turns out He was stabbed almost fatally 9 times or something, serious internal organ trauma from

what... if i remember, some violent crazy thug, jumped him with a knife.

Then on recovering his near 6 x 3 stabbing attack Eddie Quinn, worked on this & door work.

If he got stabbed 9 times & went back on door work, that someone who walks the self defense talk.

Seems very refreshing The Approach, reminds me of the vibe I got when on seeing one of

Geoff Thompson's earliest articles & ads in Combat Magazine, I bought a little print a 1000 yourself

type of home made self defense book. One of Geoff Thompson earliest in the mid 90s.

(The books back in Dublin, its probably a collectors item!)

The Approach seems refreshing, (OK - no one will do a Geoff Thompson, as he was the Pioneer of

Street (Fighting) Self Defense who got all the concepts together into a strategy that were around for

years.) - Eddie Quinn looks the real deal, I m in!

Yeah - Rich Dimitri of Senshido really I mean The Shredder concept. That is 10/10.

Excellent street self defense move, I got in well used but no not teach it. lol! (good to keep a few cards up the sleeve!)

Paul Vunak is great - RAT, but I like Vunaks Street Fighting DVD Better, & Straight Blast DVD he has.

I trained with a dude from USA in Israeli who trained a few times with Vunak, said he was the real deal.

Apparently Vunak had or has an occasional break out on the beer & other stimulants of the Tony Montana nature,

& when in his "party mood" had habit with a few SEALs or ex SEALs to hit biker bars for a bit of impromptu fisty cuffs LOL!

Who I really like & he was more put together in an extensive in depth knowledge of

the work of Col. W.E. Fairbairn (which past 6 months, have done my own informal analysis

of Combatives of Fairbairn, Sykes, Applegate & O Neill from WWII area).

I am speaking of & he only died 6 months ago, is Carl Cestari whose combatives

& DVD s explaining the variations in WWII & Pre WWII Hand to Hand Combat for SOE & OSS & Commandos,

is amazing.

How many dirty tricks, lethal, things one can do with variations of a "Palm Strike" (chin jab, tiger claw)

there is an art of destruction in that move alone. (open handed slaps... punch with fist to top of skull

of attack does dam_n all, except bust your hand maybe, an open handed slap to top of skull, even when

one gets to a high level of slapping, will KO attacker with slap to skull or KO attack through a western

police riot helmet. )

Kelly McCann (ake Jim Glover) has similar to Carl Cestari Combatives, I am only getting around to

basics on Kelly McCanns stuff (most of 90% the same anyway).

(always did a bit of combatives this 7 or 8 years with the Krav Maga. In the street & working few doors in dublin

in mid 2000s, had to defend myself --- Palm Shot Or Slap or Forearm Smash to soft of neck of violent thug,

9/10 down they went, & I always did what not supposed to do, I let them hit first, so ethically morally I

was in self defense. Good experience! Add in a good ole Irish Farmers Gob of Phlem spat into attacks

face a nano second before that Chin Jab goes in to bang attacker before he even blinks the phlem out of face! LOL!)

Bite if cornered or you miss with strike... job done!

4 move self defense (I count the phlem as a strike! lol!)

Anyway enough of that... it all inside secrets, I do not teach that! LOL!
