Hello all

Can anyone help? I came to Thailand on a Non-Imm O visa after applying to Hull Embassy for a Visa to 'seek work and visit friends'. I have now seeked out and accepted a job and need to change my visa to a Non-Imm B as my current visa is stamped to say work prohibited. The visa lady at work hasn't seen this before and tells me I now need to fly out of the country to change my non-imm o visa to a 30 day tourist visa before she can change it to a Non-Imm B - is this right? I thought you could change a Non-Imm O to a Non-Imm B at a Immigration office? Has anyone else had experience of this type of visa situation?

Any help very much appreciated as I will need to get this sorted by Wednesday of next week when I am due to do a multiple entry visa run to the border if it cannot be changed in the country.

Thanks in advance

There is no need to change.

You can work with a Non Imm O Visa providing you have a Work Permit.

The stamp says "Work Prohibited" so he cannot use this visa, he must change it.

Oh okay, maybe would be better for them to stamp "Not allowed to work without a Work Permit"

but this is Thailand and that would be tooooooo easy

Labor may or may not issue a work permit with that stamp - but she should ask before making decision that you need to obtain a new visa. If labor says no then is the time to obtain a new B visa with work permit application receipt/company paperwork.
