You could use your computer; get a small program called "AnyDVD" and you will have no more hassles

The county code is prefabricated in all DVD players and PCs. Thailand is 3, EU is 2, USA is 1. It's illegal to change that, but it is possible and some electro/PC shops do that.

Not illegal if you know the code to change it, as you wouldn't alter any copyrighted software. There are many websites where you can find the code to make your dvd-player regional free. Not all have such code and of course you do it on your own risk if something goes wrong.
