Accommodtion On Month To Month Basis....

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm moving to Phuket for a few months starting in two weeks time.... I'm taking a hiatus from work to do some teaching in Patong. Now as excited as I am about the idea of a change for a few months I'm rather nervous (and maybe even worried) about one small practical matter.... finding a place to stay for a few months.

Is it easier to find a place that allows you to pay on a month to month basis? Where do you look to find a place?

To give a small idea, I'd be looking for a one bedroom apartment with aircon in a liveable area either in a hotel or a furnished place and obviously the cheaper the better!

Any advice would be appreciated.... I guess I'm more 'freaked' by the fact I'm not sure how easy it is to find a place and of course not knowing where to look!

Thanks!

Sadie

At this time of the year it might be best just to rent a room in a guest house for 2 months. You can find deals on Nanai Road as cheap as 6,000 - 8,000 baht/month including electric & cleaning. You would be very lucky to rent a small apartment at that sort of price on a short term let, plus you will likely have electric & services on top.

For sure an apartment will give you more space, maybe even a kitchen for cooking/eating in, but could be tricky finding a nice place at a good price for 2 months let. Not impossible, but will take some searching when you get here.

Thanks for that info!

I didn't realise you could get places for so cheap.... I'll have a look in to it!

If I'm going to be staying there for like 3 - 4 months is it still better to go into a guest house versus an apartment? Or will that be in the period where prices will rise (drastically?) due to switching to high season?
