Want To Play Football In Thiland!

Featured Replies

Hi all this is my first post here any help would be much appreciated. I am considering coming too thailand in january 2010. I was at stoke city at a youngster then went to macclesfield town and was there for four seasons. I had a bad injury whilst at macclesfield and that was a big blow too my career but i am at fully fit again now. I am currently playing semi-proffesional two leagues below the football league. Im 22 play right or left mid and want to know how i would go about playing in thailand in the pro leagues. Is it possible to get trials or some kind of foot in the door. Any info would be great average wages, what the standard is like how big the crowds are how popular it is. Is there any other english players currently playing out there i could contact. I am looking to live in bangkok so info on them teams would be better but any info will be great for now. Does anyone know a good website to see the standings fixtures etc of the thai pro leagues?

Many thanks again to any replies.

Sorry about the mis type of Thailand :)

I dunno Mate but you're more than welcome to play for my 5 A Side Team in our League on Samui if you're bored, with your CV as it is & now you're fit again.. :)

Blimey Singhy that must be a sight for sore eyes, just remember the old adage, you lose weight to play football, you don't play football to lose weight :)

Im not sure much about Thai Football but the wages arent that good. Some pro player in Thailand I know who is quite good gets paid like only B20,000 per month. With that pay it wont get anyone anywhere

www.thaileaguefootball.com

www.thaifootball.com

www.clubwebsite.co.uk/chonburifc

www.clubwebsite.co.uk/koratfc

Are the best English language websites for coverage of the local scene. Hope that helps.

The Thai domestic league is booming right now. When I first started going to watch Chonburi back in 2002 we'd get crowds of a few dozen. Yesterday the official attendance was 6,101, and a lot of teams are regularly attracting similar crowds.

But mate don't forget you need to have 4 thais for every farang in the side. In Europe this is called the 6+5 rule. Here it is called 4+2+they are our rules.
