Bedlam was created are interested in it? or they'd rather talk to broader contingent of ppl than only to "VIPs" ? All users with a number of posts higher then 500 will be automatically moved to "advanced members" usergroup , from which they can access the Bedlam forums and others who might be created later.In this way we hope to provide a Place for the long standing members of the community were they can talk amongst themselves. The members that were granted access before keep their rights.

March 8, 200521 yr Personally I am too boring to come up with interesting new subjects, and I think most of the subjects in Bedlam these days are as boring as the ones I would come up with myself. The problem is we need hot potatoes to discuss in order to get people posting, but these hot potatoes tend to bring out the worst in people after a while so the risk of bans and personal conflicts is larger. I am a bit surprised DJ Pat doesnt post here. Not that I like his views, but I have to hand it to him, he is a good topic starter. I currently hang out in the language forum splitting hairs since I cant split atoms, and I gave up trying to convince BoonMe he's got the wrong idea a long time ago. How about a topic contest? Me too... I think most of the posts in the general forum are much more entertaining and informative. Having said that, I do think that a VIP forum is a good thing as a place to post where you aren't likely to get any OTT replies. With a cutoff entry level of 500 posts, most people should be aware and practised enough in their postings to avoid breaking the rules. A little bending though should be encouraged... I'm not that partial to Bargirl threads, myself (heh heh) but it makes sense that a room of established posters could be better trusted to handle a wider range of subjects without going too much over the top. I mean, if you're just going to forbid any subject that invites any kind of controversy, we'll all be discussing the color of our mobile phones eventually as the only safe topic. Just my two cents.
