Hmmm - where is Blinky Bill?

It's OK BB, everyone loses face now and then - don't be ashamed -you can come out now it's no big deal... you just spouted your mouth off and got it wrong, that's all.

No one here is out to to increase your woes. :)

:D

Could someone give him a call? Tell him he's missed on the board at the moment.

And how does this thread pertain to Thailand and more specifically Chiang Mai?

-Mestizo

I live in Thailand, BB lives in Chiang Mai.

We both watched the cricket in Thailand.

Can't get much more Thailand or Chiang Mai related than that.

Do you think he's conscious yet? :D

I can't hear any more puffed up pouting from the Aussies at the moment about how they are going to flog the poms at cricket. Perhaps, as when the game was looking in doubt for them, they began switching to rugby.

Perhaps they can't handle the fact that they simply weren't good enough.

Ashes to ashes....

sorry, they better switch to netball... :)

YES!!!!! :D

Im glad we won and think we deserved it (only just though), however England have a LOT of catching up to do for the ashes to make up for the last 20 years!! If we get 2-3 of them back to back then we can properly celebrate!

Nah, when you beat the Aussies you need to ram it down their throats the same as they do to us.

They don't respect 'gracious' losers or winners, if they are not Aussies. I think you are right about the catching up though and I'm not convinced we have much talent in the bowling department. Broad and Anderson still have room for improvement, but I'm afraid Harmison and Onions are not test class. I was extremely impressed with Swann's spinning and accuracy, but Panaser is just average. The Aussie press are blaming Ponting's captaincy and the selectors - they didn't make these statements after the 4th test?

The nice thing about The Ashes, is they remain at Lords even if we lose - so in a sense we always retain them and give the Aussies a 50 Baht copy. :)

I like australian people's attitude towards sport, and that includes their reactions to victory or defeat.

I usually cringe at england's reactions to victory or defeat. If we win then there must be something wrong with the other side, if we lose, the players have humiliated the nation.

We could take a leaf out of the aussies' sporting book in my opinion.

Meanwhile, excellent news that we won. Very exciting series, and how lucky we are to have test cricket. Fantastic and unique game.

Congratulations to the England cricket team from an Australian cricket lover. England were the better team when it mattered in the final match.

It seems that Australia's biggest daily newspaper agrees.

All the huff and puff of making amends for 2005 came to nought with Australia comprehensively outplayed over four days against an English side resolute in its belief.

Sydney Morning Herald

Long live the great sporting competition that is 'The Ashes'.

Well it is all over now there is always next year in Australia. I do believe that as a consolation prize The Aussie team has been invited to take part in the World Conker Championship and the World Tiddle Wink Championship which take place in the next month in England

It was said in some top Australian papers today that the better team lost because Australia got 7 100s England got two bla bla bla,Nice to hear the Australians whine a bit ,

Freddie's throw from long on won the game, and the Ashes. But what was Ponting doing? Ball watching!

If he had set off when Hussey called he'd have made his ground.

England were all at sea at that point; totally out of ideas with no hope of getting either of them out. I could see them both being there at the close, and for most of the next day. In which case the Aussies would have certainly drawn and retained the Ashes, or maybe even won.

As Vic Marks (I think, it may have been CMJ) said on TMS, if Australia are still batting at tea on Monday, they'll have a new world record (highest 4th innings score to win a first class game) and the Ashes.

But a moments hesitation from Ponting and a superb throw from Flintoff changed all that. From that moment, England never looked like losing.

But, winning the Ashes at home is one thing, can they retain them in Australia in two years time?!

Just happy that the best team won :D

Australia have lost 3 of their last 4 test series,

There are other cricketing countries as good as if not better than the current Australian team/squad. They haven't replaced many good players recently retired.

I did hear on radio that in Australia yesterday morning they were celebrating winning the Womens under 21 World netball championship. :) , trying to avoid the word DEFEAT in sport for the nation at sport.

Of course Aussie Rules Football would be easy to win in an international competition :D
