Hi,

I just got my 1 year marriage visa. I am wondering if it would be OK to put my 400K baht in a CD account (orange book), instead of a savings account. Has anyone ever done this ? I am worried they will want to see it in a "savings" or "checking" account.

Thanks,

Phil

I have never heard of a CD here - what you can use is a fixed deposit account. They do not want it in a checking account (which is called current account here).

Do not know what a CD is , but they like it to be in an account where the cash is easily accessible.

They do not seem to understand current accounts. They like to see a bank book.

If you mean the Bangkok Bank orange book, then you are referring to a Fixed Deposit Account.

If so, then yes you can.
