For all interested, we at KITOONS offer kitesurf courses and lessons in Hua Hin, Chumphon und Phuket. The wind season in Hua Hin and Chumphon begins soon and this is a chance for all you expats to try something else than Golf. Kiteboarding is very exciting and can be learned by all ages between 15-60. A basic fitness and good swimming skills is all you need. It's quite easy to learn. Much easier than wind surfing for example. Thailand has a great kitesurfing community and getting involved will for sure make your time here more worthwhile. Hua Hin and Chumphon are arguably during the wind season from beginning of November till April amongst the best kitesurf locations in the world.

You can begin with us right here in Bangkok. We offer a free 1 hour introduction, where we will introduce you to the sport, explain you the kitesurf equipment and show you some VDO material. A cool drink in our garden is inclusive :) Of course we are there for all your questions. Call us at 081 923 0507 or drop us a mail [email protected]

Hmm.. How is this obvious advertisement allowed to stay up?

Well, out of fairness, and to give it a fighting chance, here is the other two established kitesurfing schools offering classes more or less in the same locations throughout Thailand:

Kitezone: www.kitesurfingphuket.com

and Kiteboardingasia (KBA): www.kiteboardingasia.com

I took my classes at KBA and was quite happy. Friendly family run. Kitezone has a younger crowd running it. Never heard anything bad about either. All three schools claim to be IKO certified. I say do what I did and check out each first before you decide. In Phuket during the monsoon season KBA and Kitezone are located in Nai Yang beach near the airport, and in Chalong/Rawai in the high season due to wind directions. Not sure where Kitoons will be as they are new to Phuket, but likely the same. I will definitely recommend the sport though. Great fun!!
