Something smelling musky -- the age of undemocratic in your face oligarchy in the USA.
New York 2020 New York 2024 I did say previous to the election NY would see a swing to Trump. Trump made a 5 percent gain in Manhattan, 6 percent in Brooklyn, 11 percent in both the Bronx and Queens, and 8 percent on already Republican-leaning Staten Island. https://www.newsweek.com/news-york-city-map-results-swing-republican-1982887 -

How busy is Suvarnaphumi?
Just as an update, I am currently waiting for a flight to Dubai. Monkey class sadly. First time through BKK in a few months and I have to say it just keeps getting better. 15 minutes from check-in to security, getting a multi entry re-entry permit and through immigration. Security looked busy but was really quick - the new system is much improved in terms of passenger flow. No need to take laptop out of bag or take off watches, belts, shoes. Re-entry took just under five minutes from me approaching the counter to having my passport back with a multi entry re-entry permit. Because I had done that I wasn't allowed to use the auto gates and was directed to an IO but there were no people in front so took about 15 seconds. Loads of auto gates now, no queues. Milling around the place is busy and I expected the worse, but it was a breeze. Well done AoT. -

The Trump cabinet Thread
Regarding Trump's cabinet level picks so far -- except for maybe Marco Rubio -- I think of the line from Jimi Hendrix: I know what I want, but I just don't know How to go about getting it -

MG ZS EV battery modules used to make DIY home battery
Many will have seen videos repurposing old Nissan Leaf Batteries More recently videos have appeared using BYD Blade Batteries The problem with these big battery packs is that they are difficult to work with for the DIYer. MG on the other hand have smaller battery modules that can be replaced without having to place the whole pack. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
"most, if not all DTAs, don't give blanket taxation rights to resident countries on certain, specific incomes defined in the DTAs". The operative words being, specific incomes, rather than all income. It is clear that many (not all) DTA's give the resident country the right to tax specific types of income, that have already been taxed. This does not mean taxed completely a second time but taxed at a higher rate, which takes into account the tax already paid overseas. In a simple example, solely for demonstration purposes, income of a specific type may be taxed at 20% in the home country but because of the stepped tax bands, it may be taxed over at 25% with a credit becoming available for the 20% tax already paid. But for the lay person to understand the total impact of that measure, they would need to factor in the difference between their home country TEDA equivalent and Thai TEDA, which could go either way, based on the country of origin. They would also need to understand the tax treatment of ALL their different types of income, some of which my be treated more favorably, some less so. -

The Guardian Steps Back from Elon Musk’s Platform X Amid Content Concerns
BlueSky are facing the consequences of having all these easily offended leftists join their platform who don't like to see opinions they disagree with. Seems like they are going to need a bigger moderation team. Also, the use of the word "triaging" as though they are working in A&E and are saving lives with their moderation -
