Hilux Vigo And Ipod

Featured Replies

Has anybody figured out a good way to hook an iPod into a late model Hilux Vigo's factory sound system? I'm not interested in FM transmitters, and a cassette adapter won't work as it's a CD player only.

Luckily my Fortuner is a 2006 model and has a tape player as well as 6 CD changer so I use the cassete adapter.

You could take it into any Thai Audio for cars shop and I'm sure that if it can be done, they will do it, other than that, buy after market unit with iPod jack.

Yeah, but it makes me a little nervous to have a Thai audio shop guy messing around with the factory stereo. Has anyone done this with a new truck/car recently?

I have it done to my Fortuner. It also enables to control the ipod through vehicle's steering controls such as Volume and Previous/Next track buttons on the steering and charges the battery of ipod at the same time. It's called XCarlink. Google it for more information.

I had this guy to install the xcarlink for me in bangkok. His name is Piak email. [email protected] phone 085-9339592. charged me 3000 something for xcarlink including installation to my vehicle.

Hope it helps

I emailed him, and he quickly emailed back. 3200 for the iPod unit, 3400 for the USB, delivered by EMS. Then I have to get it installed. Sounds like you got a good deal.
