I want insurance for my electrical/computer equipment, I am IT professional by trade with work permit, company reg etc.. however I want a insurance that suitable for me. I work from a rented room and whilst the windows and doors lock they are the standard brown metal frame slide across ones etc.. I am of course concerned that a break-in whilst I'm out would be a big hit fiancially.

I have a HP quad-core desktop and two widesceen monitors, in the event of a break-in I need to able to go to the local Lotus/BigC/BannanaIT and buy a similar spec PC the same or next day and get reimburshed fully (or the insurance company furnish such within same timeframe). I had receipt for this.

Same with my Apple macbook, I need to be able to go out and buy one asap. I have a UK receipt for this about 2 years old, has been upgraded to 4gb etc.. but if I buy replacement it would be lowest end macbook today which obviously better processor/newer revision.

I keep backups offsite and copies of software offsite along with realtime backup to the cloud so I rebuying the equipment I should be able to get going very quickly.

Does such insurance exist? If its a drawn out process for claiming then its probably not suitable for me.

May we suggest you send in the details of your equipment on the request form for Thai Visa Insurance to ask their many Underwriters ?
