Spoonman I have been to Kamphaeng a few times myself....tried the Phet hotel which is alittle rundown now.I've also been in the Chaokungrao Riverside which is the big hotel that the other guy mentioned. That as of last week costs 1000baht a nite with American style breakfast, it has free wi-fi.

Then there is a smaller hotel which has only been open for 9mths with 2 floors & some 40 rooms called the Green Park Hotel. This is the one I would recommend, price as of last week 360B for twin rm pn, 430B for double pn....very clean, modern , free wi-fi, free toast & tea/coffee in the morning.Basically a very nice place for small money at the moment. They don't seem to have a web site on their card but Tel is 055-716111. As for Farang food I used to go to the TT English bar that used to sell geat grub but ,alas, when I passed by last week it had turned into an internet cafe :) There used to be a pizzaria in the town run by a german guy but i don't know if he's still around.

Happy travels :D

We have stayed at the Phet Hotel once, and I would agree it is alittle rundown, although "acceptable". We also stayed at the Chaokungrao Riverside, which was "reasonable".
