I love all sorts of music and have found that youtube has so much to see and listen too. I just found this kid some may already have seen him play, how is it possible for someone so young to have so much self taught talent. I am talking about Sungha Jung you take a look at this and see if you agree. I love his Mission Impossible Theme and Canon in D wow :D this kid rocks now what will he be like in a couple more years. I think he will top some of the greatest. :) There are also some great Thai songs on youtube too.

I loaded my laptop with cds before moving here, good idea but have heard them all to death now.

I used to download from emusic.com but they won't allow it here (emusic must id the isp, and say 'your country blocked'). Same with another site I used in the past.

Youtube often too slow for me to download, have a weather-dependent internet connection!

Any suggestions re a reliable site for downloads - ok about paying.

thanks G61

What Sort Of Music Do You Listen Too In Thailand, What sort and where do you go to download.

Me I don't listen to Thai music anyway :) too high puke factor. Exept few traditional sweet Isan songs that are ok.

But Thai music and Thai TV is banned from my home.

Usually I listen to this great webradio player that I can really recommend to you http://radioget.com/

It plays ALL worldwide music genres flawless, with one click of the button it also starts to download and store the songs separately in a folder. Radio Paradise is very good, can also be listened via their own website.

I used to listen to Sec Lo So

Now I am back to my usual mix of all sorts. latest (re) find was pick up the peices by The Average White Band

Great music to drive to...or wash the car with it on loud enough to make other folks think twice about that chanting stuff at Zero Dark 30! :)

GM Grammy and RS are the most popular labels here.

Best way to find the best hits is to buy the best of year singles from both GM Grammy and RS. There worth a buy and listen, depending how old you are...

As for downloads I do know a site with A-Z Thai Music downloads but is all in Thai.....:)

Also you can buy mp3 cds from any market packed with the latest popular thai songs for 60baht.

I LOVE DA ENDORPHINE! seen her in concert was amazing!

For downloads i hit up the various Rapdishare forums.

check out these guys they are good. specially the first 2, hangman and silly fools(hangmans frontman used to be the lead singer of silly fools) and often hosts a music show on t.v about the thai music scene and up and coming new bands. also bodyslam and the potatoe, are recommended.

saw theres an outdoor bash coming up soon. i think its called something like the concert in the mountains or something like that. kind of the thai equivilant to glastonbury, reading, v festival, woodstock, lolapalooza. not sure how many days it lasts though.

as the young thai lady posted, r siam and grammy are the two biggest labels in thai music industry and are probably best known for producing alot of the big isaan style music stars. (excuse the spelling and pronouciation) names like...

got jakapan, jintala poonlarb, pe sir dert, silryporn umpipor, piporn satorn, di oratai, unda star, dacatan churadar and many more. you can also go for a great night out, at tawangdaeng clubs. lots of music, food and drink and generally loads of thai have a good sing along to the houde band and singers. who perform all the big hits
