Borrowing Against Owned Condos

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been asked before, tried to search and could not find.

I own three condos in Jomtien. I would like to use one, or all, as collateral for a loan to buy another. I assume 50% down will be required and financing would be in Thai wife's name. I am on retirement visa, but work full-time for multi-national in Singapore. One man at SCB in Pattaya says 20% of valuation, man at SCB in BKK says 50%. Both talk about "signing" the properties over tho the bank (my wife's words).

Any illumination that can be provided is appreciated...................

I assume you wish to put the new condo only in your Thai wifes name, not yours or indeed joint names?

Otherwise funds from overseas etc...

You may want to try CIMB I saw them advertising this service recently, but did not get any details on it.
