Looking For A Bass Guitar Teacher

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a qualified bass guitar teacher? Chiang Mai. Nimmanhaemin area. It doesn't matter if he/she is Thai or non-Thai, and English language skills are appreciated but not necessarily required.

I'm looking to take lessons at my home (preferred) or at their shop for one hour per week, possibly up to two hours per week in future. The going rate seems to be about 200-300 baht per hour, but I'm flexible on the price.

Thanks.

Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Roger1999,

Since you haven't had any specific response, I and I thought we'd throw out a few suggestions :

1. visit GuitarMan and ask around

2. visit the Yamaha music store on the 3rd. floor of Airport Plaza; Khun Ooh there does guitar and bass repair in addition to working there, and I think he probably knows a lot of people in the local music scene.

Visit other music stores that seem busy, like the one on Sri Donchai Road closer to the moat, the one on Thanon Charoen Prathet just after you make the left turn from Sri Donchai as you are on the way to the Ping. Possibly the big Yamaha music schools on Thanon Nawarat, or on the way to Hang Dong ?

3. There was a very fine jazz guitarist (graduate of Berklee in the US) who had a music studio/school on the road leading to Wat U Mong, but that was many years ago : no idea if he's still around, or if he ever had a bass teacher working with him.

good luck, ~o:37;

I am learning bass at Melody Music School 053 302993 near Sayari Complex, teacher doesn't speak English but that is OK as my Thai is enough, enjoying it. I like learning at the school, not sure if they teach at home as well, but they do provide the Fender on site.
