Just a suggestion, I have written three times about Insurance for a 63 yr. old from USA now retired

and living in Bkk.

I got a somewhat confusing response and didn't pursue since I already have Bupa Platinum, but

they have allot of exclusions for pre existing conditions so I might have bought another but since

it seemed no one cares to make a sale here I did not follow up.

Again I am a condo renter and am in the market to buy a one bedroom for around 5M,

and again I wrote requesting details and added that with notebook insurance

I got a reply but again very vague,

to me it says hey man

go find it yourself and then when and if you want it

maybe we will sell it to you>

????

does that seem like you want to earn money from selling Insurance

or if you are just a way of passing info on then maybe someone who really

wants to help people and earn money in the process please do something

when someone is reaching out to get Insurance

and if I am totally wrong I apologize in advance.

I don't want to make you wrong about the way you handled

my three requests for help,

I just want to clarify in case others feel the same about your handling

of possible business.

May we suggest you look at the information on the Thai Visa insurance page Here

Thai visa insurance, thank you for the reply and the link, but I will say, that I was hoping for a bit more information...

Perhaps a bit of dialog and answering of questions before asking me to contact you for a quote would be a good idea. I don't mean to be short, but this is a web forum, where topics should be openly discussed and explained.

If you are an expert in this field, perhaps a bit of explanation about what is legally required and what is optional and estimated costs would be in order.

Also, as I am sure that you do not discriminate or overcharge, you can also advise premium costs in this thread as others may also be interested.

I was also asking about mortgage insurance, but didn't see anything on the website. I want to know if there is a product that would pay off the mortgage if something happened to me (or is the only option standard life insurance in the amount of the home loan?).

Looking forward to your reply

I am with QBE Insurance. They charge 7600 baht for their 'Home Secure' policy. This covers for general reasons why a house would collapse ie: fire etc... and theft or destruction of household items. My house rebuilding cost is insured for 3Mil Baht.

I have no real idea if its any good, as for the 6 years I have had this insurance I am glad to say I have not had to make a claim. Its an Australian company and I am told that this is better than a Thai insurance company - as they dont 'quibble' over every payment and detail of a claim. :)

I am just renewing my car insurance - probably via Thai Visa insurance - as the Thai company I am currently with (Viriyah Insurance) proved to be less than 'user friendly' on a small claim for a windscreen I made with them after paying Class A premiums for 5 years!!

I personally dont like insurance companies at all - avoid them if at all possible - and have just house and car insurance. After my bad experience with this small car claim with Viriyah - I am beginning to doubt the usefullness of any insurance companies here in Thailand - so beware!!!
