crusty Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Where to watch the start of this year's Sydney to Hobart Race ? With the largest ever gathering of super maxis and maxi yachts anywhere on the planet and Samui Cable's Aust.Asia Pacific channel not showing it but maybe some other channel ? If the new Bondi Beach Bar and it's pseudo Aussie owners don't show it, they should be made to change the bars name !
midasthailand Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 If you want to watch the start, I always found Rose Bay a good vantage point and for the finish, try Hobart. Seriously though, I don't think it will be broadcast here unless you can stream the commercial channels from Sydney on the Internet
Samuian Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Unless you request is genuine and you didn't want to simply let the forum know about your opinion concerning the real nationality/identity of a particular pub owner.... check this out, here you may find faster, more information: click here:

Agreed the new Aussie bar does need to get its' act together a little but I am sure they will. It seems to show an awful lot of American football at present (for some reason ??).
mcyachty Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Hi guys, This year's Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race will be streamed live on Yahoo 7 (http://au.sports.yahoo.com/) from 12.30pm, AEDT, which I think is 8.30am Samui time. Also, on the CYCA website which is www.cyca.com.au or http://rolexsydneyhobart.com/default.asp you can watch the yacht tracker which gives real time positions of the yachts during the race. I will be on the Pin boat, northern line. My 8th and last time. Enjoy, it is the best line up of yachts for years.

crusty Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Told Steve today that Crusty was cheering him on. Steve hasn't heard of Crusty only Cap'n Squall !
mcyachty Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I had trouble with Crusty, but I figured it was you. Merry Christmas Squal, all the best to the girls there, and I wish you the best for 2010.
newtronbom Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Looks like the Kiwis are set for a good finish to round out the year. I find the Yahoo7 feed hopeless with the internet speeds having dropped right off due to the holidays. The yacht tracker works fine though, as does the "Google Earth" feed. Us (ex) Kiwis are sure showing the Aussies our hairy cheeks this year. Alfa Romeo had it sussed right from the start. Wish my old 50 footer looked even half as good as Alfa Romeo does - or even better could I afford the money to buy one like that!

While it is congrats and a great win for a well prepared (and funded) boat, the crew is what counts and of the 28 onboard, Aussies outnumbered Kiwis So there !...........
