hello!

was up to Khon Kaen immigration office for my 90 days report this week. The officer collected 5 passports from 5 of us guys waiting there. After some 25 minutes he came out again, handing out 4 of these 5 passports And did ask me to come in to his "office".

In there he was asking me about a "paper" which I understood was the application form from last time, 3 months ago. I didn´t have any such paper and have never had one. I understand now afterwards that there should be a paper like that stapled into my passport. But that guy up in Chian Kahn must have forgotten all about it 3 months ago.

The officer said however, you can go up to Chian Kahn to get a new paper from them, or you can buy one from me here. It will cost you 2.000 baht. Then he more or less whispered to my wife, but if no receipt 1.000 baht.

Bearing in mind that it is more or less 660 km both ways up to Chian Kahn from my hometown. I did pay this guy 1.000 baht. That note slipped into his pocket fast as a hungry cobra.

So sorry to say the last instance over my horizon, the Immigration office, is now also stealing from us falangs as well from their own employer the state of Thailand.

Shame on you Khon Kaen.......

You should have the receipt from your last 90 day report.

Without it you are liable for a 2,000 Baht fine.

Pay the fine or pay the under the counter tea money.

Actually I believe the fine should only be for not reporting - not for the loss of a receipt.

True, but without the receipt as proof that you actually reported you leave yourself wide open.

Sounds like he got a fair deal for a 1000 baht then

Now I thought all 90 day reporting was on the National Police Computer, so you can report at Any Thai Police Immigration Office.

Mind you not checking that your 90 day 'Paper' is stapled into your Passport is a bit er daft.

Yes I agree to all critism that you give me. Of course it is my liability to KNOW what is demanded from me. But "Lite beer",

I have a massive stamp in my passport, isn´t that a proof as well that I have reported??

Anyhow I agree as I said, I was stupid in this case. BUT I think that it is NOT OK by Thai immigration to steal money. Me, myself

will never be so dam_n used to bribery that I say: Well it is a good deal like user-offline.pngJimmyTheMook said. But I really hate this shitty

stealing, and instead of trying to help they are just looking for money to put into their own pockets.

Thank you guys anyhiow, just wanted to inform you.

No. A Visa or an extension stamp is nothing to do with 90 day reporting. They are two different things.

As said there is no stamp in your passport for a 90 day report. You must fill out a TM47 form for that and the bottom part is normally returned as your receipt (although some places seems to issue there own receipts).

Sorry, i think there is no special law and no fine for loosing this paper. But i know, TiT. :)

Everthing is / has to be in the computer and may the official was only angry that glegolo came to him and did not report in chiang khan?

jonwilly: Now I thought all 90 day reporting was on the National Police Computer, so you can report at Any Thai Police Immigration Office.

Can anybody confirm this?

Glegolo, a officer who takes corruption-, teamoney or a unlawful fine is bad for the immigration, even if he may saved you a long way.

Thanks for your information.

I had been doing my 90-day reports at Chian Kahn last year. They stapled all but one into the passport, evidently forgot the other one, but that stays in the passport along with all the monetary receipts.

At my last 90-day, Udon Thani was happy enough with that separate piece of paper.

As I recall (but more knowledgeable people here will tell you yes or no), some offices are requiring copies of those 90-day report stubs when applying for extensions.
