Looking For A Place That Sells Tripe

Featured Replies

Looking for a place that sells tripe to feed my dog. It's a pretty common thing to feed dogs, I'm sure others do this as well and know where to get it around here.

You'll have to fight the Thai for it, it's one of the local delicacies. I think the missus buys it at the market.

In Phuket I could easily buy it in the local Thai meat/fruit/veg market, I would guess you could do the same where you live.

Market on Soi Nernplub wan near the railway tracks OR the Muslim butcher 600M down the road

The wife just bought ground beef packaged as "dog food" in the new Makro in pattaya. Pretty cheap too 25 baht per kilo.

In fact it might be such "unfit for human consumption/past sell by date" food that killed the dogs in the other topic that's running!

Chuck some off meat over the wall and it's goonight Vienna.

Well dogs do burry their bones for days before eating them so I think his dog will be ok with it :)

I just buy fresh meat, bones, organs and wholeprey at the supermarket but they don't have tripe which should be good for a dog to eat.

Does anyone know a place near Carrefour that sells tripe? Soi Nernplub wan is quite out of my way!

Have you tried asking at the butcher in Carrefour? Given how popular it is among Thai's I think they probably have it.

The personnel said they didn't have it. Also I need it filthy and unwashed! I got some from the market today but it's all cleaned out....

Unlike the west where the only use is to grind it up and stick it in sausages, here it is a delicacy so you have to compete with the Thai's for it, hence all you find are prepared/ready for human consumption.

Dont know about tripe, but you can pick up a satisfying supply of pig uteruses at most meat displays about towne.

Be kind with the comments please.

Anyway why feed this offal to dogs? Don't they need protein? I would have thought stomachs and uterus's and such were mostly fat and grizzle with very little nutritional value?

I don't dare feed my cat and dog raw pork meat because of the Aujeszky's Disease. It's a minor risk but it's there.

The tripe is recommended as a part of the raw food diet because of good bacteria or something I decided he can do without...
