Sorry but anybody know normally 1 T of grain can mill into how many kg of Rice?

Pls enlighten me thanks.......

The big problem for Khampaeng Phet is that the nearest weather station to me is 65km away in KP and I have been tracking the weather since September.

Unfortunately there is sometimes a big difference between my place, KP and my mates place only 25 km away from me.

Same for me. Surin is 60 kilometers north of Kap Choeng so the report can mean very little for us. The problem is the lack of official weather stations.

I found this website recently that looks very interesting.

All about your own local weather station.

The 'Thailand Weather Forcast' site mentioned at the start is rubbish. Hardly ever right. Will look at the weeks forcast one day then do the same again the following day and the changes are hard to comprehend. Yesterday in my area was forcast' No rain expected' Had rain (not a downpour just steady drizzle) all day. I think weather forcasting is a great job to be in. Get paid a lot for only guessing what might happen.

Here is another one to consider :

www.yr.no

I can even get my local tumbon on it.post-140056-0-65606900-1345623643_thumb.Click on image to enlarge.

Like most weather forecasts it may not be correct every time but they are only meant to be a guide.

Well I can't get the Tambon, but I can get the Amphoe, good link Ron Thanks

yup important George but seeing as there are so many macro effects caused by local geography sometimes forecasts can only be used as a very rough guide......

...we live on a our mountainside overlooking our rubber farm facing east..we see storms and rain etc to south and north and across the valley to the east ......while we sit in sweltering sunshine...

555 ....it's sunny and hot here now after 5 days of intermittent torrents and day long rain ..right now I can see to the NE (35km +?) what looks like heavy rain..

anyways every little helps I guess..keep em coming....thumbsup.gif

This one has Nam Phong which is about 10Km from me.

Unfortunately, the forecast is absolutely useless. I've been following it for a few weeks now and should have had almost continuous rain. Had blistering hot sun nearly every day. It's almost a if they just think taht as this is the rainy season it will rain every day.

this is the one I use, has my nearest village on it http://www.accuweath...hailand-weather

This one has a village 7 Km from me, will see how accurate this is. Fingers crosed.

I've found the same thing with "www,yr.no " and I suspect that it's based on past data collected over many years.

http://www.yr.no gets its data from the National meteorological service in Norway, for locations outside Norway the cooperate with other national meteorological institutions. The main problem is that even if they have a lot of place names in their database they still have to model the weather forecast from the surrounding measuring points and weather models used in the country you look up.

It is the well-known story of rubbish in rubbish out.

If the weather patterns in an area is predicable their ratios for hitting the correct weather is rather good, but in areas with micro climate or with weather formations that have a high random factor the forecasting is pretty much useless.

Weather data and modelling is done by http://www.met.no and idea, hosting and visualizing the data models to human understandable form is done by http://www.nrk.no (the public broadcasting corporation in Norway).

The forecast is not as a suggested in post 16 based on statistical data. it is just not as accurate as they would like us believe.

Thanks for that,it certainly puts a different slant on things.

I can more or less pinpoint my location on the BBC weather map, As I'm quite near the coast and border with Burma. If I see blue I expect rain lol.

When we start the wind business in India - we bought a small weather station online - an american product .

We put it in the farm where we installed the first wind water pump . The stell pole is about 12 meter and 10 indians stand it !!!! costed lots money and time to transport pole from the factory to the site which made me thinking of this tranditional indian way cant work oversea !!!

I google the website and found some one are using the clamp carbon pole for weathe which is light, strong, and easy transport - can put in the SUV car to carry to the site .

Good link, just took a peek at N. America.

I use the national weather radar but  Phitsanulok radar is out of action more than in action!   So I click on Khon Kaen which is in action a lot! Still not the accuracy I would like.  The link from first post....can't wait forever for it to load. ????

  • 1 year later...

The TMD radar is still reading a time difference but in actual it looks right for the current time.

I wonder if had a blackout and haven't reset the clock.

No problem it's UTC time.

16mm west of Chumphae today so far, keep it coming.

Started raining about 5:30am and stoped about12 noon. Not heavy but light and steady. Kap Choeng/Surin.????
