I have a collection of negatives dating from the early 1900's thru current (primarily B&W but some color) which I need to scan to digital for preservation/conservation purposes.

They are mid size and some 35mm, so a slide scanner alone will not be sufficient. I do not have the money or desire for a drum scanner but would like something near the quality it would provide. As many of these are potentially of historic importance and some value, I am looking for something well above consumer grade, but less than a high end commercial grade scanner. 500 to 800 USD range might be palatable.

Any suggestions appreciated...
