on 28 October last year i get my 1 year married non o extension.

i asking for the 90 days reporting slip to fill in with the date i have to go to the office again.

they told me you dont need, after 90 days you go to the emigration and handover the 90 days adress report.

So i did today in amnat charoen, the date i have to go is excactly 24 Januari, but this is a sunday,so i dicided to go today.

Amnat emigration put the new date for the next time:20 April.

When i complain about the date, they asking for the 90 day slip from phiboun,i told the boss i was told i dont need.

He told me i dont care about what they told you,you game in today and today it is 20 januari so after 90 days you gome back here for the next slip.

I asking him, please look in my pasport for the date they give me my extension.

I give a shit about that date,i am the boss here and you take at or not.(HIS EXCACT WORDS)End of discusiun.

i KEEP SMILING AND SHAKE HANDS WITH HIM,BUT I LOOSE 4 DAYS.

So if you get your 1st exstension asking for the 90 day slip fil in by the emigration.

The date you got your extension is not relevant. The 90 period starts on the day you entered the country so the correct information is on the landing/departure slip in your passport. Thais are not always very good at explaining this, so you probably misunderstood them.

The day of his application is the start date of the first 90 day period, and he knew that and reported properly a few days early. The next 90 day count is from the day you report - not the day your could have reported. So Immigration was exactly right in what they stamped and told him.

lopburri, your wrong, the boss from emigration in amnat told me:if the phibung emigration put the slip in with the date you have to go to the reporting than i will give you the date of 24 april, but they dont do,maybe they forget but now its the date you game in.

The first application for a 12 month extension is your 90 day report.

After that the application is nothing to do with 90 day reports.

It is 90 days from your last report unless you leave the country in which case the 90 days start on the day you return.

You reported today, so your next report date is 20th April in 90 days.

Re the Op, you could have gone 7 days after ( or before come to that ) ref. your due date.

You chose to go today, but you could have gone on the 29th and gained based on your reasoning 5 extra days

You did not loose 4 days by the way as your 90 days as already stated by our more experienced moderators is based on the actual day of your report.

In your case today and you were given 90 days from now.

The next reporting can be done 7 days after 20th of April if you wish it and you can usually gain a few days that way.

As for the poster calling them lackies when responding to your OP. :)

It,s these sort of mind sets / attitudes that create difficulty for all of us and to call them as such beggars belief IMHO and underminds the many on both sides who show respect and get it back in return on a regular basis.

Just to confirm, if you report a few days early in Samutprakan they will count 90 days from the day you report. You're not 'losing' any days because it's not going to force you to leave the country or anything. You do the next report and the next etc. and you're still here. What have you 'lost'?

You have lost nothing, sometimes my HR dept reports me early, sometimes late..

Matters nothing as the end result is same same, just dont go over the 7 day window (7 before/7after) and all is saweeeet.

Yep. It's best to follow procedures literally.

Is it true - there is 7days window? I've heard 2 at most. Please confirm.

From immigration website:

Notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days

Procedure and notification

1. The foreigner makes the notification in person, or

2. The foreigner authorises another person to make the notification, or

3. The foreigner makes the notification by registered mail.

4. The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires.

5. The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days.

If you have a non-o visa based on marriage, does that not expire after one year? And do you not need to leave the country every 90 days? I thought only with non imm o-a visa or extension thereof you can report 90 days at immigration?

Posted

You are confusing permission to stay and 90 day address reporting, which are different things. Anyone who stays in the Kingdom more than 90 days has to do address reporting, irrespective of whether they hold 12 month extension of stay from immigration or Non O-A visa issued by embassy/consulate abroad.

A multiple entry Non-O visa based on marriage would be valid for 12 months from the date of issue, giving 90 day permission to stay on each entry. As you would have to leave the country every 90 days you would not need to do 90 day address reporting.

All extensions over 90 days is subject to 90 day reporting.

I have one year extension of stay based on marriage and do my reporting every 90 days.

I obtained my one year extension yesterday. The 90 day report notice that they stapled into my passport indicates 28 April as the next reporting date. I was expecting them to assign 20 March as the next reporting date as the date of my extension application is 21 December 2009. I wonder if this is a mistake or can local offices do what they want in this regard?

Keep the notification slip in a safe place for reference, TW

They have rightly in my Western mind set given you 90 days from your actual visit which was yesterday, not the 21st of December 2009

Officers do of course interpret things differently.

If you lose it, go on or seven days either side of the actual 90 days you think is correct, just in case.

I seem to remember someone posting awhile back that some offices expect the applicant to check the stamp requirements and report accordingly, irrespective of the date given.
