Last year I read in the BKK Post that Lumphini Boxing Stadium was going to close down and move outside the city. Since then I've heard nothing. I live in Chiang Mai, haven't been in that neighbourhood lately, just wondering if anyone knows the latest.

I understand it's moving to somewhere on Nang Linji Rd, where a new stadium is already under construction. I wonder if they'll keep the old name, even though it's nowhere near Lumphini Park?

the new stadium is scheduled to open on the 16th of September.
